The all new 2018 Bentley Continental GT

The all new 2018 Bentley Continental GT has been spotted testing in UK and in Germany.The Bentley Continental GT is the most sold and affordable model in the British manufactures entire line up.Bentley has the kept the luxurious grand tourer desirable by giving it minor updates through out its life cycle, but the overall styling and the mechanical underpinnings hasn't changed much and never deviated from its true shape.But due to the introduction of newer and more luxurious rivals like the Aston Martin DB11 and the Mercedes Benz S-65 AMG Bentley has decided to give the Grand Tourer a overhaul .The new sleeker and dynamic GT's interior and exterior is said to be inspired from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept. Bentley has introduced more lighter and sturdier MSB platform(also used in the Porsche Panamera) and for the first time for a Continental GT a plug in hybrid system has been introduced 


EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR 
The spy shots reveal that the new GT's design is inspired from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept first seen in Geneva motor show 2015.The GT comes in two body styles coupe and covertable with 2+2 seating arrangement. The headlamp and tail lamp setup is inspired from the EXP Speed 6 concept.It retains the recognizable Bentley grill but much more sleeker.The all new body has short overhangs and shorter wheelbase for a sportier driving experience.The boot houses a retractable spoiler.The usage of Aluminium in the body construction should result in significant weight savings and better performance than the current model. Further details of the interior hasn't been revealed but the GT is expected to have an updated navigation,media interface and a new digital instrument cluster inspired by the EXP Speed 6 concept



ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE 
The Continental GT is expected to be powered by the new 6.0-liter W12 that first appeared in the Bentayga and a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 .For the first time Bentley has introduced a plug-in hybrid power train in Continental GT lineup.The 2.9 V6 engine with an electric motor is expected to churn out a combine output of 455 BHP. Eignt speed automatic transmission and all wheel drive will comes as standard .The Continental GT stands on Porsche's MSB platform.The usage of Aluminium will result in weight reduction and better power to weight ratio which equates to better performance.The weight loss and shortened wheel base with short overhangs will make the GT much more enjoyable. Expect a top speed of 200 mph and sub 4 second 0-60 mph time for the range topper model.The more faster and more powerful Super sport model will be launched later.


MSRP AND RELEASE DATE
The prices hasn't been revealed yet, the pricing isn't expected to rise much from the current model range, the current range starts at 198500$ and goes all the way to 293300$ for the Supersport. The dates has not been confirmed for the launch,but the new 2018 Continental GT range is expected to be launched in mid 2018.The Super sport model will be launched during 2019 when it's launched it will be the fastest and most powerful Bentley ever.
